For this reason, we are there to help you and we asked the Cepu experts to give us some tips to write a beautiful three-year degree thesis: here’s what they told us!

Do you want a hand instead with the study method? Do not lose:

Three-year degree thesis: what is it?
The undergraduate thesis is a thesis that the undergraduates carry out at the end of their three-year degree course in order to obtain the title of doctor. Compared to master’s degrees, the three-year theses are very short (this depends on the degree courses, but generally 50 pages are never exceeded) and are mostly compilative, although in some cases experimental thesis or projects are welcome. especially with regards to more technical faculties, such as engineering.

Remember that the subject of the degree thesis must be agreed with your supervisor: the best advice we can give you is to think about the subject and the professor with whom you would like to write the thesis and elaborate some proposals to be made to the teacher. However, know that not all professors work in the same way: some may or may not accept your proposals, give you a free theme or assign them a topic.

Once the topic has been agreed with the speaker, he begins to search for bibliographic material, consulting libraries (not only university ones, but also national ones), archives or buying the materials you need. Pay attention to the selection of the website. Consult, however, always with the professor who can direct you towards the right choice of material.

Before starting to write the thesis, read all the material and start to select the parts that you consider important and try to throw down an index that you will have to show to the professor. Only after receiving your ok, you can start writing the text.

Write a three-year thesis: the structure

Once you are ready to write your bachelor’s thesis, remember that this type of work always has the same rigorous structure to follow.

Frontispiece: contains the University logo, the degree course attended, the academic year, the title of the thesis, your name and that of the speaker. Despite occupying the first page, it is the last part to be realized, when you have decided the final title of the thesis.

Index: each thesis must contain the index with chapters and page numbers, as if it were a real textbook.

Introduction: the paper must include an introduction in which you briefly explain the topic you will talk about, the reason why you chose it, the method used in writing the thesis and a brief summary of each chapter. The introduction is always written at the end, after you have the complete text and therefore also the correct division into chapters with the right contents.
Chapters divided into paragraphs and subparagraphs: at this point, we move on to the actual text.

A three-year thesis is generally divided into 2-3 chapters, each of which in turn is structured in paragraphs and subparagraphs to make the contents clearer and more readable. Each page must also contain the bibliographic footnotes for each time you directly or indirectly mention authors in your bibliography.

Conclusion: at the end of the thesis, you will have to write another 2-3 pages in which you will express your personal opinions on the topic, also suggesting which further information could be done on the issue.

the end of the thesis, you will have to write another 2-3 pages in which you will express your personal opinions on the topic, also suggesting which further information could be done on the issue.

Bibliography and websites: it is essential that each thesis has a complete bibliography and sitography, so remember to write down all the texts, newspaper articles / magazines, books, essays and websites you used in writing the thesis.

Acknowledgments (optional): before the introduction or end of your thesis, you can insert personal thanks to the teacher, your friends, family, boyfriend / s or whoever you think was important in writing the thesis and supporting you during the university course.

How to write a three-year thesis on Word: style and layout
Finally, let’s see together what are some precautions to use when writing the thesis on Word.

The writing style. As for the style of writing, remember that the thesis must be objective (separate conclusions) and must contain a formal language appropriate to the subject matter.

The style of paragraphs, fonts, bold and italics. The degree thesis must be presented as an orderly and stylistically clear and easily legible work. This means that you have to choose only one font that you will use for all the text. This must be clearly legible (eg. Arial, Calibri, Verdana …), while particular fonts, italics and Gothic characters to be used only in creative and informal contexts must be avoided. It is also important that you choose a single style for the titles of the chapters, one for those in the paragraphs and one for those in the sub-paragraphs. Regarding the formatting of the paragraphs, generally the line spacing 1.5 and the justified are required.
Footnotes and number of pages.

To create a thesis, it is necessary to create the footnotes in which you will insert all the notes referring to the text. To create them, just go to the Word menu bar, to “Insert” and then “Footnotes”. The same applies to the page number.

Edges and margins. Another thing to watch out for is the margins: consider that you will have to leave some space in the margin for the binding. Many faculties establish precise rules in this regard, dictating what are the marginal measures to be used in preparing the thesis.

Two-sided printing. Another point to be clarified, at the time of printing, is whether this must be front / back or not. Universities often impose their own rules: in general, however, double-sided printing is not recommended.

How to prepare an exam in a week

How to study in a short time: do you want to prepare a university exam in a week but you don’t know how to do it? Don’t miss our tips!

How to prepare a university exam in a short time

Is it possible to prepare an exam in a week? In theory it is possible, aspiring, why not, even at 30 e praise. Unfortunately, however, not all cases are the same and the variables to be considered are many, from the difficulty of the subject to the number of pages to be studied, from the basic preparation you have on the topics of the exam (is it a subject you like? Have you followed the lessons?

Are they topics that you already know many aspects of?) to the determination, up to the capacity of memorization and learning in the short term that you have. In any case, if you found yourself at the last moment preparing an exam and you don’t want to skip the call, you need a “battle plan” and a valid strategy to deal with the study of the subject in question and overcome the exam brilliantly (or otherwise bring home an 18 if your goal is simply to get the credits).

Do you want some useful tips to prepare an exam in 7 days? We asked the CEPU experts for some tips: here’s what they told us!

Be prepared in less time: the tips to take an exam in 7 days
You have decided to take the exam, you have collected the material you need to prepare yourself and now you only need a plan to study everything in a week. Strength and courage: with these tips you can do it!

Make a detailed roadmap.

In order to be able to study the whole examination program well in 7 days it is necessary to be very organized and very fiscal. The first step is to organize the study. Make an account of the pages to be studied and the chapters and then divide the topics for the days you have available (if you can, leave a day or half a day for a brief final review). Make a pattern even with the hours spent on the books, concentrating the study in the moments of the day that are most congenial to you for concentration. Also, don’t forget to schedule so many short breaks (10-15 minutes) to rest and eat, as well as recharge and not go crazy.

  • No to last-minute summaries, yes to the key-word schemes.
  • If you have been provident and have already summarized the books, using summaries is certainly useful. However, if you are now starting to study a subject, you will not have time to memorize by writing the summaries. Instead, focus on quick and immediate schemes to fix the most important concepts and keywords.
  • Read the notes carefully.
  • If you followed the lessons in class, a valuable help can come from the notes, which can integrate, summarize and / or facilitate the study of textbooks.
  • Listen to the recordings of the lessons in your spare time (if you have them). >
  • If you are lucky enough to have recorded the lessons, it may be helpful to listen to them when you want to take a break and relax.
  • Use colored pencils and highlighters to maximize photographic memory.
  • To prepare for the exams you need to focus on all possible memorization methods. The photographic memory is very valid, especially for the short-term study. Use different colors to highlight different concepts / topics / phases: in this way, by reviewing the page and the associated colors in your mind, it will be easier to remember the contents! Another valid method, if you have so many names to remember, is that of associations.
  • Contact the students who have already given the exam to get useful information on the exam questions.

We use social media all the time, so why not combine business with pleasure by contacting the comrades who have already given the exam to ask them what are the generally asked questions or the most popular topics?

Go to the reception with the professor / professor.

Another useful tactic can be to go to the professor’s or professor’s reception to show you are interested in the subject, to understand which are the topics that interest him most and perhaps to have clarifications on everything that is unclear to you and / or you do not have I got it.
Make a study group with your classmates.
The risk of studying with other colleagues is to get too distracted. However, if you have motivated companions like you, it can be worth the saying “union is strength”. Organize a study group, perhaps the day before the exam, for a common review, to exchange doubts and discuss what has been studied.

Don’t be discouraged.

Studying an exam in a week will surely be tiring, so that there will be times when you think you won’t make it and give up. Don’t be discouraged: think about your goals and be sure of your potential.

How to get a good grade at the university in 7 moves

Are you a university student and would you like to have an average of 30 in the booklet? Find out in 7 steps how to get a good grade at university!

How to study at university: 7 tips to get a good grade in the exam
Taking good grades at university exams will allow you to maintain a high average and introduce yourself to the thesis discussion with the concrete possibility of obtaining the 110 th cum laude. Do you think it’s not important?

Think like an employer: would you hire a resource that has shown commitment and perseverance during the course of study or one that presents itself with a 90 stretched? However, it is not always easy to discover the technique to shine at the exams. Don’t worry, we are here for this and, to be even more useful, we asked the CEPU tutors for some useful advice! Here is a mini guide in 7 points to pass each test with top marks.

Take high grades at university, rule number one: Study from time to time
It seems obvious, but it is not. In addition to constantly following the lessons, to aim for a good grade in the exam you will have to study each time, without getting to the last minute full of notions to learn.

You don’t need to spend the last week before the exam on the books 24 hours a day: your mind will become overloaded and you will not absorb anything. Better to study the topics immediately after the end of the lesson. In this way you will remember the words of the professor and the notes taken and the last days before the test you will be able to concentrate only on the review.

Do you want to take a good grade? Then find a fellow student to review before the exam

Find a classmate to practice with and review for the exam. If some concept is not clear to you, it is likely that he will be able to help you, and vice versa. Furthermore, in two you can simulate a real oral exam, questioning each other and correcting answers and ways of exhibiting. Furthermore, the presence of a companion in your own situation will soften the anxiety and you can give each other courage.

Being careful during the lesson is the first step to having a good university study method

This point assumes that you are a student attending, which is also advisable for those university courses that do not require compulsory attendance. Being careful during the lesson will help you understand the most difficult concepts and therefore it will be easier to memorize them. Furthermore, professors tend to add concepts that you do not find in books: if you know how to repeat them in class, you will automatically have an advantage over those who have not been careful.

To get a good grade at the university do not improvise: prepare summaries and schemes

After each lesson, summarize the most important concepts in an easy to understand scheme: it will help you when some time has passed and you will have to take the books back for the final review. Use highlighters, colored pens and post-it notes: in addition to making the studio fun, they will enhance your visual memory and memorize concepts more easily.

Exams are not everything in life (part 1): Consume appropriate meals
Immediately before the exam, eat healthy foods and do not overdo portions. Take all the nutrients: proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins, but stay light the night before the exam. In the morning you have breakfast: there is nothing more wrong than to go to the fasting exam. The mind needs nourishment to work at its best: in the absence of this you could experience memory lapses and fainting from tension.

Exams are not everything in life (part 2): Sleep at least 8 hours
Don’t make the mistake of spending the night before the exam to study. Last minute study is useless, because the stressed mind does not assimilate the concepts: various studies and researches prove it. The night before the exam you go to sleep early and wake up at least an hour before the exam. This will allow you to face the exam with a rested mind and to have a hearty and relaxed breakfast as soon as you wake up.

The final trick to best face a university exam: hold a felt-tip pen in your hand during the oral exam

When you hold an oral, the tension skyrocket. According to Daniel Goleman, psychologist and writer at the New York Times, the more you tend the more you tend to move your hands and arms to gesticulate, causing annoyance in your interlocutor and making you feel insecure. To avoid this, hold a pen or a felt-tip pen: even the less experienced politicians do it when they have to speak in public. In this way you will no longer be able to make unsafe gestures like touching your hair or putting your hands in front of your mouth, while also increasing the relaxed state of your mind.
